Description
This service package represents a general border traveller information system collects border crossing information, traffic conditions, advisories, toll information, incident information, roadway maintenance and construction information, air quality and weather information, and broadly disseminates this information through existing infrastructures. The information may be provided directly to travelers or provided to merchants and other traveler service providers so that they can better inform their customers of travel conditions.
This service package supports SANDAG's 5 Big Moves in the areas of:
– Complete Corridors, by allowing travelers to make actionable decisions about how and when to travel, addressing SANDAG's goal of making more efficient use of transportation corridors; and
– Next OS, by defining the types of information provided to a centralized database for processing and performance monitoring.
