Center Data Collection Functional Area
Description
'Center Data Collection' collects and stores information that is created in the course of center operations. This data can be used directly by operations personnel or it can be made available to other data users and archives in the region.

| 01 | The center shall collect transportation data such as traffic operational data, transit data, vehicle data, weather data, freight data, event logs, etc. and make it available for ITS Archives upon request. |
| 02 | The center shall assign quality control metrics and meta–data to be stored along with the data. Meta–data may include attributes that describe the source and quality of the data and the conditions surrounding the collection of the data. |
| 03 | The center shall receive and respond to requests from ITS Archives for either a catalog of the traffic data or for the data itself. |
| 04 | The center shall be able to produce sample products of the data available. |
| 05 | The Center shall collect operational data from other Centers. |
