San Diego County
Description
The County of San Diego encompasses 4,526 square miles with a population of 3.3 million. The County has many cities and innovative government agencies located within its boundaries. The county itself provides services to the roads and areas outside of the cities with fairly rural ITS needs and equipment. Signals are not integrated and the fire authority is provided through Fire Districts. The Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement and also provides law enforcement for NCTD under contract to the transit agency.
