'Border Inspection Administration' performs administrative functions relating to the inspection of goods and vehicles at the border.

Functional Requirements

01The center shall provide traveler data to allow recognition of travelers.
02The center shall process cargo manifest data from freight distribution and logistics centers to clear cargo for crossing the border.
03The center shall provide the collected border activities statistics data to archived data and planning systems.
04The center shall collect information on Port of Entry, date, and other information on carrier and goods.
05The center shall collect border inspection results from the field.
06The center shall provide fleet and freight management centers with the results of the clearance processing, including the updated manifest.
07The center shall provide the appropriate commercial vehicle administration center with the arrivals of freight and commercial vehicles crossing a border.
08The center shall exchange border manifest data with the border crossing field equipment.
09The center shall process applications for expedited customs programs for travelers.
10The center shall process applications for expedited border clearance programs for carriers and shippers.
11The center shall provide applicants for expedited border clearance programs with information, such as application status, results, supporting documentation for registration.
12The center shall provide other Border Administrations with expedited border clearance program data, including application and registration information.
13The center shall provide other Border Administrations with credentials and inspection result information to support their inspections.
14The center shall provide other Border Administrations with surveillance data to support their inspections.
15The center shall interface with the Border Inspection System functions of performing the inspection as well as providing security for the border area.
16The center shall communicate the status of border clearance or a shipment to the intermodal customer, distribution and logistics management provider, or fleet manager.
17The center shall provide a summary of border activity to the data archive function.
18The center shall provide the administration for the border inspection function.
