On receipt of alert notifications from the Emergency Management Agency, the DOT formats the alert for the driver information services using 511–type services, website, dynamic message signs, highway advisory radio, or other driver information systems in the roadway; returning status back to the emergency operations center.
Collect threat information and system status data concerning bridge, tunnel or other transportation assets.

The alert includes information and instructions for transportation system operators and the travelling public, improving public safety and enlisting the public's help in some scenarios.
