This Regional ITS Architecture is a roadmap for transportation systems planners and deployers in the San Diego Region. The architecture provides a common framework for planning, defining, and integrating intelligent transportation systems (ITS). It represents a shared vision of how each agency's systems will work together in the future, sharing information and resources to provide a safer, more efficient, and more effective transportation system for travelers in the region.
This architecture was developed through a cooperative effort by the region's transportation agencies, providing input to the Regional Transportation Plan. In support of the region’s shared vision and goals, the Regional Architecture provides the information necessary to deliver ITS in the region, using the existing and planned services and inventories.
